San Francisco - Things
to do |
 |
San Franciscans are full of life and enthusiasts,
and there are plenty of opportunities to burn calories. The sail-dotted
bay proves it a prime sailing and windsurfing country. However,
with wind much around the year it can be difficult. Ocean swimming
is never very pleasant, and the treacherous surf at Ocean Beach
is only for the hardy. Roads are excellent, wide and well signed.
Rates for Car Hire in San Francisco are great value for money. There
are also many Car Hire Companies offering Budget and Luxury Car
Rentals between many locations throughout the city.
Nevertheless, you can enjoy walking and sunbathing besides the waterside
activities. In-line skating and bicycling can also be big fun. Just
take note of few things to make the most of your visit.
Security
Remember that Tourists are most vulnerable to crime because they
often carry large amounts of cash and are not as street-savvy as
locals so avoid unwanted attention. The perplexed camera-totter
can be obvious target for thieves.
So make yourself known with the area before setting out; Check a
map on the street, be sure that someone at home knows your itinerary
and never admit that you are traveling alone.
Eating
The city has a wide range of restaurants, and citizens spend time
in cafes and bars. At night and during weekend’s people from
neighboring cities drop in to San Francisco to enjoy its big-city
amusements. Closing time in the bars is 2am, and the after-hours
scene, while picking up of late, is not a big deal here.
Entertainment
Unlike Los Angeles and New York, the industry machinery that controls
the creative energies of does not dominate entertainment here and
this in a way benefits from its low-key atmosphere. Musicians and
actors often halt here to hone their talents beyond the glare of
LA's industry spotlight. Another refreshing entertainment is the
dance clubs and live-music venues showing major flash and attitudes.
So when it comes to entertainment, San Francisco no soul unattained.
Shopping
Shopping is interesting at San Francisco with small, quirky, unusual
items. There are big department stores and an international selection
of name-brand boutiques as well, and the oddities of Hayes Valley,
the Haight, and the Mission are a lot more fun.
Stores are closed on Sundays, typically from 9am or 10am to 6pm.
Department stores keep later hours, often staying open until 8pm
or 9pm.
Despite a prominent figure of 8.25% sales tax deduction, Visitors
are not stopped from shopping.
