on Van Wyck Expressway (678), the Airport can be accessed from Belt
Parkway (27), Grand Central Parkway, and Queens Boulevard. To reach
the airport from Manhattan, you can take the Van Wyck Expressway
to the airport exit, and then take the Belt Parkway East to exit
19/Van Wyck Expressway. If you are traveling from the Eastern Long
Island, you must take the Belt Parkway West to exit 20/JFK Expressway.
From New Jersey, you can take NJ Turnpike to exit 14C (Holland Tunnel),
and then head south on West Street to Belt Parkway. The AirTrain
JFK between all terminals services the Airport.
INFORMATION AND HELP DESKS
The information desks (tel: 773 686 2200) are available in Terminal
4, 7 and 8. Recorded information on all airport facilities, including
parking, lost and found, driving directions and ground transportation,
is available (tel: 718 244 4444); passengers can also talk to an
operator for further information. Multi-lingual customer service
representatives are on hand to help with directions and information;
they are easily recognizable by their distinctive red jackets.
Money and communications:
The airport has a Breaux de change, ATMs and banks are available
in all terminals. Mobile phone hire is available in the Arrivals
area of the Terminals.
Eating and drinking:
The airport has a selection of restaurants, bars, fast-food outlets,
The airport has a wide selection of shops. Shops, including duty-free
are present at Terminal 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 8 and 9, while other shops
are located throughout the terminals.
Trolleys are available at all terminals. There is a baggage wrapping
service in Terminal 3. Left-luggage is available in Terminal 1
and 4. A lost property service is available (tel: 718 244 4225/6).
There is a chapel, a medical center, a hairdresser’s, baby
change facilities and shoe shine.
The airport has disabled facilities available for disabled travelers
staffed by efficient representatives to assist hearing- and visually-impaired
travelers. The airport is wheelchair-accessible. Reserved reduced-rate
parking is available in car parks close to the terminals; passengers
are requested to contact the Five Star Parking for further information
(tel: 718 244 4168). Disabled toilets are found in all the terminals
and TDD telephones are clearly signposted throughout the terminals.
The only hotel found on site is Ramada Plaza Hotel (tel: 718 995
9000), however, there are other hotels within short distance from
the airport like Comfort Inn JFK (tel: 718 977 0001), Holiday Inn
JFK (tel: 718 659 0200), Holiday Inn Express Kennedy Airport (tel:
718 977 3100), Howard Johnson Express Inn (tel: 718 723 6700), Radisson
Hotel at JFK (tel: 718 322 2300), Sheraton JFK Hotel (tel: 718 489
1000) and JFK Courtyard by Marriott (tel: 718 848 2121). All hotels
provide a shuttle service to/from the airport. Hotel reservation
services are located in the Arrivals area of all terminals - either
a staffed desk, which charges a small booking fee, or free courtesy
