Galway city is famous for its warm atmosphere,
great bars and wide variety of restaurants.
If you wish to plan ahead, remember there is plenty to do and see
in Galway and its neighboring counties. However, before you pay
a visit… learn few facts about the city.
Hotels
Galway has plenty of hotels to choose from. Few recommended list
is here, the Corrib Great Southern**** is the closest to our Parkmore
facility, at less than 1 km (3/4 miles) away. The Quality Hotel***
and the Oranmore Lodge*** are also outside the city centre and just
over 1 km (3/4 miles) to Creganna. If you would prefer to stay in
the city centre, try the Great Southern Hotel**** or Jurys Inn***,
which are approx. 3 km drive. Also located in the city centre, the
Radisson Hotel**** is a very modern 4-Star option. Creganna's corporate
rate at this hotel offers a B&B price of €115 for a single
or double room.
Food
Galway people are food lovers and enjoy sinking their teeth in scrumptious
gourmet. You can check out these restaurants; Kirwins Lane, the
Malt House, Fat Freddies, Fish & Chip Shop... the list is endless.
If you're looking for an authentic Irish pub, Taafes Bar in the
city centre offers traditional music and great Guinness! The Kings
Head and The Quays are also worth visiting.
The bars in Ireland close at 11:30pm on Sundays, 12:00pm on Mon-Wed,
and 12:30pm from Thurs-Sat. Therefore, if you want to party later
than this, a nightclub is the next option. The main hotspots in
Galway include Halo, Central Park, The Quays, and Karma.
