Airport, is located about 4 kilometers from downtown, and
lately enhanced to a great extend in order to provide quality
service to passengers and simultaneously contribute to development
of the Region and of tourism in general.
INFORMATION AND HELP DESKS
The information service desk can be found at the meeting point
in the terminal building. Passengers can contact the information
service (tel: (0)289 800 617) for details of flights, disabled
facilities, opening hours and public transport timetables.
Cultural and tourist information are also available on arrival
from the ICEP desk.
Money and communications:
There are banks in both the Arrivals and Departures concourses,
with ATMs located nearby. A bureau de change and post office
are located in the Arrivals concourse.
Eating and drinking:
There are several restaurants and food outlets at the airport.
There are duty-free and tax-paid shops at the airport, offering
a wide variety of goods.
Luggage: There is a lost property facility
near the meeting point (tel: (0)289 800 688).
Other facilities: There are travel agencies.
Passengers requiring wheelchairs or assistance should inform
their airline at the time of booking. Lifts and disabled toilets
are located throughout the airport. Disabled passengers can
park in reserved spaces in the car park opposite the terminal
There are no hotels on-site, although the Ibis Faro (tel:
(0)289 806 771) is only 2km (1 mile) from the airport. Other
hotels in the area include the Lti Alfamar Beach & Sport
Resort, Hotel Faro, and Hotel Monaco. Information about hotels
